K.I.C.Z. Maintenance & Remodeling is a proud sponsor of the Lower Currituck Food Pantry, Relay For Life of Currituck County, The Currituck Kids Fund, Currituck Free Dental Clinic, North Carolina Baptists on Mission, Methodist Home for Children, Dare Challenge, Currituck County High School Project Graduation, YMCA We Build People Campaign, Beloved Haven, Virginia Stage Company, BHI Conservancy, Old Baldy Foundation, Interfaith Community Outreach, Outer Banks Community Foundation and many other local charities and organizations.
I was born and raised in Winton, North Carolina on the Chowan River. I graduated from Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal, Virginia and after graduating I returned to North Carolina and went to college at N.C. Wesleyan. I decided to seek a Law Enforcement career and worked as a Master Patrol Officer for 7 years in Dare County, serving on the Emergency Response Team and the Accident Reconstruction Team. I have been interviewed by 20/20 for Criminal Investigations that I worked on and have appeared on Court TV. My Great Grandfather was a Constable, my Grandfather was a Chief Deputy and Head Jailor, my father was the Roanoke Chowan Narcotics Task Force Commander and my brother is a Lieutenant with the Sheriffs Department. I have been a sworn law enforcement officer for 21 years and continue to keep my certification as a Reserve Deputy.

I began K.I.C.Z. Maintenance & Remodeling with a simple philosophy. I believe in standing behind my work and if I say I'm going to do something, you can rest assured it’s going to be done and it’s going to be done right.  My grandfather always told me that a man is only as good as his word and that's the way I want people to know me. K.I.C.Z. Maintenance & Remodeling continues to grow most often through word of mouth because of the way we treat our customers.

When I'm not working I enjoy volunteering with our local fire department. I've been a volunteer Fireman for 24 years and currently serve as the Chaplain. I'm a member of the Currituck Wild Goose Rotary Club and sit on the Board of Directors for the Currituck County YMCA. Being involved in the school system is extremely important to me and I serve as a member of the School Improvement Team and was a past Vice President of the HSA. I'm very active in my church as both a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon and love volunteering in various projects in my community. I enjoy coaching County youth softball and volleyball. I am happily married with 4 children ranging in ages from 10-19.

When I'm not working I enjoy volunteering as a fireman which I've done for the last 26 years. I'm a member of the Currituck Wild Goose Rotary Club where I was named the 2013 Rotarian of the year and received the Paul Harris Fellow award. I previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Currituck County YMCA. I was extremely honored to receive the 2015 Citizen of the Year award from the Currituck County Chamber of Commerce. Being involved in the school system is a huge priority to me and I was a past member of the Student Improvement Team and past Vice President of the HSA. I'm very active in my church as both a Youth Leader and Deacon and love volunteering in various projects in my community. I am happily married with 4 children ranging in ages from 11-20.
